Electrocution on Construction Site/Wrongful Death
Posted on September 2020
Settlement prior to trial. 31-year-old construction worker was electrocuted and killed when he elevated a boom lift and hit an overhead powerline. There were no warning signs; however, verbal warnings had been given not to come within 10 feet of the powerlines. The settlement was a compromise amount due to allegations of contributory negligence of the decedent (Mecklenburg County, 2017).
