One of the greatest educational crises facing our students and teachers today is lack of the most basic learning tools, including pencils, paper, and other critical school supplies. It may seem like an easy solve, but for many school districts across the Carolinas, the financial resources just aren’t there to invest.
During the 2023 back-to-school season, DeMayo Law Offices was honored to be able to donate thousands of school supplies for both teachers and students in our community through the organization Classroom Central. Donations included paper, pencils, highlighters, markers, crayons, backpacks, and much, much more.
Established in 2002, Classroom Central fosters equity in education by providing teachers and students with the free resources they need to succeed. Classroom Central currently operates across six school districts, serving 162,000+ students in 227 schools in Charlotte-Mecklenburg, Gaston County, Iredell-Statesville, Union County, City of Kannapolis, and Lancaster County, South Carolina.
In addition to our school supply donations, many of our DeMayo Law team members volunteered to lend a helping hand onsite at Classroom Central. Our team helped sort supplies, assisted teachers in the ‘Free Store,’ and learned more about the incredible resources and opportunities Classroom Central provides for students and teachers.
It was truly rewarding to witness the thousands of school supplies collected by our team being put to good use! Thank you, Classroom Central for this wonderful opportunity. We’re wishing all students and teachers a fantastic back-to-school season.
